How do I know what boom fits my boat?
Great Question! There are a lot of things that can change a boom recommendation from one boat to sonother. For the best help please email support@barefootinternational.com. Please provide them with your year, make, and model information and they will provide the best recommendation.
What is a boom and why should I buy one for my boat?
A boom is simply the best teaching device for waterskiing, barefooting, and even wakeboarding. The boom allows you to drive at slower speeds making it safer for the small children and easier to learn on. Whether you want to get your kids on the water, or even if your'e an advanced skier wanting to learn new tricks, the boom is the safest and easiest way to do it.
Can I adjust the height of my boom?
Yes, there are two ways to adjust the height of the boom. One is by sliding thr clamp up or down on the pylon. The lower the clamp is on the pylon, the higher the skier end of the boom will be. Second, if you do not have the ability to raise or lower the clamp, you can use our B107Height Adjuster attachment which is compatible with all booms EXCEPT B205 Gunnel Mount Boom.
I have an after-market pylon. Can I attach on Barefoot boom?
No! We do not recommend using a boom on any aftermarket pylon. They do not have enough reinforcements, and you will risk ripping the attachment point right out of the floor.
My pylon on my boat is tapered. Can I attach a Barefoot boom?
Yes our B202, B201, B204, B204V can all be used on tapered pylons because the contours allow you to mount the clamp below the taper.
What materials do you use to make booms?
Our booms are made from aircraft grade aluminum and 1018 stainless steel. Designed to be the strongest, safest, and most durable boom on the market.
Can I wear the (iron) shorts without wearing a wetsuit?
You can but it is not recommended. They are designed to be compressed underneath a wetsuit and will fit awkwardly without it.
What tools will I need to install my boom?
The only thing that does not come included with the boom is an adjustable crescent wrench to tighten the clamp bolts. All the hex keys are included with the clamp box.
Can I pull more than one skier at a time with a Barefoot boom?
No! For safety reasons we never recommend more than 1 skier on the boom at a time.
Where are you located?
Barefoot International is proudly located and manufactured entirely in Milwaukee, WI since our inception in 1980.
How can I write a review for your products?
There is a product rating system at the bottom of each individual product page.
How do I find out about new products?
There are a few ways to find out about new products. The easiest way is to go on our website www.barefootinternational.com and our social channels too. Instagram: Barefoot.International
CAN ANYONE LEARN TO BAREFOOT?
THAT'S A BIG YES!! Anyone can learn to barefoot with the proper equipment and training. Mike Seipel has been teaching people of all ages and abilities to barefoot for over 30 years. In that time, he has created a very successful training program and developed equipment to increase your chances of success.
DO YOU OFFER BAREFOOT TRAINING?
Yes. Mike Seipel is regarded as one of the top trainers in the world and (depending on his schedule) is willing to travel to give lessons. He has also created an instructional DVD which guides you through the fundamentals of barefooting. Feel free to call with questions concerning lessons or the video.
WHAT SIZE WETSUIT SHOULD I PURCHASE?
We build our wetsuits in such a way that form perfectly to your body. The suit will feel tight at first but after 10-12 uses, it will have stretched and formed to your body. Check below for a general fitting guide.
HOW SHOULD I SETUP MY BOOM?
Your boom should be angled slightly forward to get the skier out of the side spray from the boat. If there will be several different people using the boom, its level should be adjusted to chest high of an average height person. From this point it will be easier to adjust up for taller skiers, and down for smaller users such as kids by shifting the weight distribution (people or ballast) in the boat.
WILL THIS TOWER BOOM FIT MY TOWER?
Our Tower Boom was designed to fit all tubular wakeboard towers. These towers all have a different O.D. (outer diameter) which determines the part number of the correct Tower Boom. The Illusion Tower found on some Malibu boats is the only tower that it cannot be installed on. If you are wondering which one is right for you, check out the Tower Boom on the products page for more details.
CAN I INSTALL MY BOOM SO IT HANGS OUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE BOAT?
All of our booms can be installed out either side of your boat with the exception of Quad V-Drive booms and Quad Contour booms. Quad V-Drive and Quad Contour booms can only be made to go out one side of your boat (passenger or driver). NOTE: MOST PEOPLE PUT BOOMS ON THE PASSANGER SIDE OF THE BOAT SO THERE IS LESS CHANCE FOR SKIERS ON THE BOOM TO SPRAY THE DRIVER. IF YOU WANT TO ORDER QUAD V-DRIVE BOOM OR QUAD CONTOUR BOOM THAT HANGS OUT THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF YOUR BOAT, YOU MUST CALL US TO SPECIFY THIS AT TIME OF ORDER.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT ATTACHING MY MAIN LINE TO YOUR NEW PRO X SERIES TOWER EXTENSION?
Our new Pro X Series Tower Extension ships with a 10 ft. Spectra Fusion leader rope. You attach your main line to this so you have easy access to the attachment point at all times.
DOES THE PRO X SERIES TOWER FOLD DOWN?
It sure does. You can fold the tower quickly by pulling 6 of our quick release pins. You can even cover your boat prior to folding the tower. Once it's covered, fold the tower and park your rig in the garage.
SO WHAT IS THIS VALMEX STUFF YOU TALK ABOUT?
Valmex is a material that is used to make whitewater rafting boats. It's extremely durable which allows us to build our Fat Sacs™ without the outer shell. So what do you get out of this? Well, you get a sac that is pretty much bullet proof with easy to access fittings.
WHY DON'T YOUR FAT SACS COME WITH CHECK VALVES LIKE OTHERS ON THE MARKET?
We build our Fat Sacs with our customers in mind. It doesn't matter what sacs you're running in what boat... check valve systems choke the flow of water into the sac. It's by design that our sacs, combined with our Tsunami Pump, are the fastest filling ballast bags on the market. Of course you can order our Pro X Series check valve system separately, they're really easy to install. You just have to be willing to wait longer to ride...
MY QUICK CONNECT CAP IS GETTING HARDER TO PUT ON AND TAKE OFF. WHAT CAN I DO?
If the cap (W739) becomes harder to install and remove, just rub a light coat of o-ring grease on the cap. This will also help keep the o-ring in good condition.
MY TSUNAMI PUMP JUST STOPPED WORKING.
The first thing you should check is the fuse. It's located inside the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter. To remove it, you will either have to unscrew the tip from the adapter, or push the tip in and turn it to align it with the slots. Once aligned, you can pull it out to gain access to the fuse.
WHY WOULD I WANT YOUR STAINLESS STEEL TOWER OR PYLON?
Tests have proven that our stainless steel pylons and towers are stronger than aluminum pylons and towers. Stainless steel is also more resistant to surface scratches.
YOUR PRO X SERIES TOWER HAS ADJUSTABLE CROSSBARS... WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MAKING THEM ADJUSTABLE?
Our adjustable crossbar design allows you to adjust the width of the tower so it will fit any boat. By 3 guys with their bare hands adjusting the rear overhead crossbar inward as tight as they possibly can get it after installation, the Pro X Series Tower becomes extremely rigid making it the strongest tower on the market.
HOW DOES THE INTEGRATED BOARD RACK WORK ON YOUR PRO X SERIES TOWER?
One feature of the adjustable crossbars is that they can also hold your equipment. The crossbars have 4 board pads to stow anything from a single slalom ski to a fatty wake surf board. All you have to do is get good bungees to secure down the front and back of the skis and boards in the crossbars.
WHAT IS YOUR ROPE GUIDE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Rope guide is a product that attaches to our towers and pylons with delron swivels. It helps keep the rope off board racks and people in the boat. Once you use this thing, you'll wonder why it took you so long to try it. NOTE: THIS PRODUCT WORKS ON ALL OUR TOWERS AND PYLONS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE X-POLE.
